An Alternative To Flex Builder Is Coming: JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA
JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA introduces some Flex support
Feb. 7, 2008 08:30 AM
March of 2007. After spending a day attending the AJAXWorld conference, I'm drinking beer in the bar of the Roosevelt hotel in New York city with folks from JetBrains. What several men can talk about in the bar? No, Alex, not about closest Manhattan's go-go bars. Of course about IDE. JetBrains is famous for their excellent Java IDE, and I'm trying to convince them that it make sense to start supporting Flex. They are concerned that the Flex market is too small.
One year later. The later version of IDEA 7.0 has some support of Flex development. This document describes how to do this.
End of 2008. I can make a wild guess that I'll be seriously considering switching to IntelliJ IDEA 8.0 unless Adobe will make some major investments in Flex Builder.
