$18 Billion Dollar Adobe Moves Center Stage
Once upon a time, Sun and Apple used to have about the same market cap. Today Apple has a market cap of $63BN while Sun's is just $17BN. Ahead of Sun, unbeknownst to many, is Adobe. Its market cap today is $18BN. For a company that in 1998 was worth 'only' $1.7BN it has not been a bad 8 years!

Working in the industry, I can tell you that this aquisition is seriously magic. Serious Magic have great products and bringing these to Adobe will allow them to surpass all their competition. At this pace, Flash will be the standard for video and Quicktime will be out of commission in no time.

At Oracle Openworld the news was announced that Oracle will work together with Adobe to enable developers to easily create Web 2.0 applications (RIA, Ajax) that serve as a front-end for Oracle apps.
