Code42,
developers of award-winning, endpoint data protection and management
solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, today announced
it won two awards from Minnesota Business Magazine, recognizing
the company’s exemplary work environment and commitment to creating and
keeping jobs in Minnesota.
Code42 was recognized as one of the 2014 “100
Best Companies to Work For,” celebrating Minnesota organizations
that set the standard for employee well-being. The awards, now in their
third year, assess nominees through an independent research group
employing various research techniques—including an anonymous employee
satisfaction survey—to determine which Minnesota companies excel in work
environment, employee benefits and overall employee happiness.
In addition, the company received the “2014
Community Impact Award,” recognizing local companies of all sizes
for giving back to the community. Code42 won the employment category for
providing and purposefully keeping jobs in Minnesota. At the awards
ceremony held on February 27, Code42 also received recognition for
boosting entrepreneurship and technology skills in the state and going
beyond “Minnesota Nice” to make a difference in the community.
Code42’s employee base has grown a staggering 2,000 percent since 2009,
expanding from fewer than 20 employees to more than 400 today.
“Minnesota is on par with the best tech talent in the country, and great
tech talent deserves a world-class environment in which to create,” said
Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and chief executive officer of Code42.
“Success comes to those companies that fully realize the most precious
resource in an IP-based economy is people. We’re fortunate to have the
best people, so our goal is simple: make Code42 so extraordinary,
they’ll never want to work anyplace else.”
Code42 champions numerous efforts to ensure Minnesota continues to
evolve as a tech-friendly haven for technical entrepreneurs. The company
fosters networking and community building through tech-based
associations and event sponsorships, such as the Minnesota
High Tech Association and Mobile
March Twin Cities. The company also mentors local startups and hosts
numerous technology user group meetings, including:
-
Girls
in Tech Minneapolis/St. Paul, which focuses on collaboration,
promotion, growth and success of women in the technology industry.
-
CoderDojo
Twin Cities, which helps children and young adults ages 8-17 learn
programming at no cost.
-
Mobile
Twin Cities, a group of technology, business and development
enthusiasts meeting to discuss trends and software on all mobile

The two Minnesota Business Magazine awards are the latest in a
series of recent accolades for Code42. The company was also named one of KMWorld’s

@ThingsExpo Stories By Elizabeth White Recently, REAN Cloud built a digital concierge for a North Carolina hospital that had observed that most patient call button questions were repetitive. In addition, the paper-based process used to measure patient health metrics was laborious, not in real-time and sometimes error-prone. In their session at 21st Cloud Expo, Sean Finnerty, Executive Director, Practice Lead, Health Care & Life Science at REAN Cloud, and Dr. S.P.T. Krishnan, Principal Architect at REAN Cloud, discussed how they built... The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. Apr. 25, 2018 02:30 PM EDT Reads: 1,870 | By Elizabeth White IoT is at the core or many Digital Transformation initiatives with the goal of re-inventing a company's business model. We all agree that collecting relevant IoT data will result in massive amounts of data needing to be stored. However, with the rapid development of IoT devices and ongoing business model transformation, we are not able to predict the volume and growth of IoT data. And with the lack of IoT history, traditional methods of IT and infrastructure planning based on the past do not app... Apr. 25, 2018 01:45 PM EDT Reads: 4,329 | By Elizabeth White IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h... Apr. 25, 2018 01:00 PM EDT Reads: 1,343 | By Pat Romanski More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smart...
