Healthcare Organization Benefits from Ultimate Software’s Cloud-Based Analytics and Customer Services

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading cloud provider of people management solutions, announced today that Hospice of Marion County, a Florida-based provider of hospice and healthcare services, is benefiting from Ultimate’s people-centric approach to service, rapid deployment of cloud technology, and the UltiPro solution’s workforce analytics.

Hospice of Marion County is comprised of four business units that include Hospice of Marion County, Inc., an assisted living center, an equipment and supplies company, and palliative care. In addition to contending with the often complex HCM-related challenges of healthcare, the organization has to manage its differing business units, each with a distinct line of service offerings. Prior to UltiPro, Hospice of Marion County had been using software provided by a payroll service bureau. HR leaders decided the nonprofit needed a new solution and selected UltiPro for its unified approach to HR, robust reporting, and reputation for exceptional partnership and support services, and then went live on the solution in January 2011.

Customer Culture

“With Ultimate Software, we went live in 12 weeks to the day, exactly as promised, and the solution is positively impacting everyone in the organization,” said Roy Hoxworth, director of human resources at Hospice of Marion County.

“Ultimate’s focus on people is reflected in its easy-to-use solution and in its support services. Ultimate relies primarily on its own employees to deploy UltiPro, and the upbeat attitude, professionalism, and ‘can do’ attitude during the complex transition made the experience very positive and successful. Ultimate has more than a great company culture — it has a great customer culture. It’s a pleasure to work with Ultimate’s people.”

Immediate Business Benefits

Hoxworth also considers Ultimate’s focus on developing an employee culture a critical factor because Hospice of Marion County also shares a commitment to building its culture and engaging its people. After the nonprofit organization completed its rollout of UltiPro’s direct access for employees, the HR team reported very positive feedback from employees and saw a range of results that are making a difference to its overall operations.

“We were impressed by how quickly Ultimate rolled out our functionality for paperless payroll, and our employees love that they have access to their personal HR records from home or office at their convenience,” said Hoxworth. “Employees can instantly access and update their information, ask questions, and engage with the HR team through UltiPro. Managers are using the technology to get fast answers to questions about their teams and have immediate access to reports without having to rely on HR. We all began feeling the improvements very quickly.”

Workforce Analytics that Drive Decisions

According to Hoxworth, the company is experiencing tremendous benefits from the workforce analytics that its employees and managers are able to draw from UltiPro. Teams can more easily respond to EEO, I-9, and reporting requests from executives and can get answers to important questions faster than ever before.

“Recently, we leveraged UltiPro to rapidly analyze historical data to make an important decision about benefits choices,” said Hoxworth. “Without the power of UltiPro’s analytics, it would have taken weeks to manually compile the information. Now we have meaningful, actionable insight from the information we can glean from UltiPro. Plus, we love having more flexibility and control over our data.”

In addition to improved communications, efficiencies, time savings, and strategic analytics, Hoxworth also appreciates the deep partnership that his teams have established with Ultimate.

“We view our relationship with Ultimate Software as more of a partnership than a strict customer/client relationship,” said Hoxworth. “From the very beginning, Ultimate’s people have done what they said they would do. Ultimate continues to produce excellent results with their product as well as deliver excellent support. One of the key points in initially selecting Ultimate Software is the way it treats its people. This level of commitment to their own employees translates into excellent customer service and support for its customers.”

“UltiPro is the full package — an end-to-end suite of HCM functionality, best-in-class cloud technology, a solution with powerful analytics, and support services that are completely focused on customer success,” said Chris Phenicie, chief sales officer of the mid-market at Ultimate Software. “We’re very pleased that Hospice of Marion County is achieving a range of operational benefits, and we look forward to a long-term partnership that will continue to strengthen its overall organization.”

"Once customers get a year into their IoT deployments, they start to realize that they may have been shortsighted in the ways they built out their deployment and the key thing I see a lot of people looking at is - how can I take equipment data, pull it back in an IoT solution and show it in a dashboard," stated Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...

In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators. Unfortunately, comparatively few of the devices currently deployed have been developed with an eye toward security, and as the DDoS attacks of late October 2016 have demonstrated, this oversight can ...

Extracting business value from Internet of Things (IoT) data doesn’t happen overnight. The many IoT deployments around the world are busy integrating smart devices and sensors into their enterprise IT infrastructures. Yet all of this technology – and there are an amazing number of choices – is of no use without the software to gather, communicate, and analyze the new data flows. Without software, there is no IT. In this power panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation; Alan Williamson, Principal...
