Apple’s launch of the iPhone 5 in China didn’t do much to help Apple’s smartphone market share, which grew little in the country during the last quarter of 2012. South Korea’s BD Card is developing a barcode-based mobile payment service enabling card users with the barcode creation app installed on their smartphones to make payments at off-line stores. Data from GfK Malaysia indicates 823,000 tablet devices were sold in Malaysia in 2012, a growth of 87 percent compared to 2011.
