StillSecure Announces Technical Upgrade to Award-Winning NAC Solution Safe Access(R)

New Version Significantly Increases Number of Devices Managed per Server From 10,000 to 30,000; Allows Customers to Enforce Policies Based on User and Time of Day

SUPERIOR, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/05/13 -- StillSecure®, a leading managed security services provider and certified compliance company, today announced a technical upgrade to its award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) solution, Safe Access®. The new version, Safe Access 6.1, will significantly increase the number of supported end-user devices from 10,000 to 30,000 devices per server and adds cloud support.

Safe Access®, the world's best, most secure network access control (NAC) solution, ensures that compromised, dangerous endpoints are restricted from an organization's network. The solution thoroughly tests all managed endpoints to verify that every device is compliant with a pre-set number of the organization's security and access policies. And, based on initial test results, Safe Access will then restrict non-compliant machines to segments of the network where they cannot cause harm.

Used by most major U.S. military branches under the Department of Defense (DoD), Safe Access is the only NAC solution that allows users to set compliance policy by Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), and provides the ability to research IAVA details by providing direct linking to the U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) website. StillSecure's IAV compliance testing includes support for Microsoft® Windows® client and server operating systems, Microsoft Office®, Adobe® products, BlackBerry Enterprise Server®, and others. Other high-value tests include McAfee® HBSS health and currency checks, USB device history, anti-virus and anti-malware health and currency checks, verification of data-at-rest encryption enablement, and rogue device detection.

Under Safe Access 6.1, customers can now test and enforce policies based on user role, as well as give employees, contractors, and guests different access based on the time of day. Most policies are based on specific devices, however, with Safe Access if a laptop fails and an employee needs a loaner, Safe Access 6.1 will immediately recognize that employee and allow him normal access on the temporary device. Further, guest users can be allowed on only during business hours, and employees logging in during the day can be trusted more than those logging in at night, to offset off-hours staffing differences. Bottom line -- only workers who are supposed to have access to the network at certain hours of the day can get on.

Safe Access 6.1 also supports cloud deployments, offering its full compliance test capabilities, and the ability to enforce access controls for non-compliant cloud instances. Most other network access control systems require interaction with physical switches, agents on each cloud instance, or can only control access at the network boundary to enforce access limitations. Safe Access 6.1 can either ensure the compliance of endpoints connecting to a cloud, or can ensure the compliance of devices within the cloud. It does so with or without an agent, so a compromise of an agent on a cloud instance does not automatically allow it to gain virtual network access. And, Safe Access enforcement servers can be deployed in multiple cloud environments and managed by a central console, giving IT managers one complete view into the status of all compliance and enforcement tasks in every environment -- cloud, virtual, or physical.
