NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GSP) announced today it will open the first New York office in the agency's 30-year history. The Manhattan shop will be co-led by Executive Creative Director Christian Haas, who becomes a Partner, and Associate Partner Nancy Reyes, who becomes Managing Director.

GSP New York was founded to attract and retain the very best artists and business thinkers, according to Co-Chairman Rich Silverstein.
"The best talent often lives in New York, or wants to," said Silverstein. "This office will be a way to take advantage of that. Many agencies open offices in new cities to serve particular clients, but this office is about great people."
Haas is an award-winning creative who joined GSP in 2006 with a vaunted digital pedigree, having worked at Organic in Sao Paulo after founding Vizio, a leading Brazilian interactive agency that he later sold to Organic. He heads up the YouTube and Google accounts at GSP, and previously he was the creative lead on Sprint, eBay and GE. Advertising Age and Creativity recognized Haas as one of the 50 most influential and inspiring creative personalities of 2010; and in the same year, he made Campaign magazine's Global Power List, and MediaPost named him a Creative All-Star. He will lead the creative vision for GSP New York, focusing on attracting and retaining top-tier talent and branching into new areas of work including innovation, mobile and social.
Reyes moved from New York to San Francisco in 2003 to join GSP after posts at Ogilvy and DMB&B, and during her tenure she has managed client accounts including Adobe, Frito-Lay, Google, Comcast and HP. In 2006 she led the HP team to win an Effie and Ad Age's Campaign of the Year for the brand's "The Computer Is Personal Again" campaign. Upon returning to her hometown, Reyes will have ultimate responsibility for the office's business operations and client relationships.
"It's a dream job to open a celebrated agency like GSP in the most exciting city on Earth, especially when you can do it with someone you have nothing but admiration for," said Haas.
Reyes agreed, stating, "We are honored that Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein would entrust us with this awesome opportunity. We're looking forward to working together to make GSP/NY everything it can be."
It is expected that the office will handle assignments from Google, YouTube and Comcast, to start.
"There are no people better suited for this new venture than Christian and Nancy," said Co-Chairman Jeff Goodby. "They will give this place a unique personality, unlike anyone else in New York, and distinctively different, I suspect, from our San Francisco and Detroit offices."
GSP will be occupying offices at 200 Varick Street in early February.
