North Plains, the leader in helping companies leverage their visual media assets, today announced the availability of enhanced versions of both Xinet™ and Telescope™. The updates include the compatibility with Adobe Creative Suite™ 6 and the capability to easily transfer assets and its associated metadata from Xinet to Telescope via the new ConnectR™ functionality. The simultaneous shipments are a reflection of North Plains’ commitment to integration between its product lines allowing customers to continuously leverage the latest technology.
Xinet 17.04
The new release of Xinet enables users producing digital assets within creative workgroups to work more efficiently through a series of customer-driven improvements, including:
- Allows users to transfer files and metadata singly or in batches from Xinet to Telescope with the “Push to DAM” ConnectR
- Ability to easily create a single contact sheet of all images, audio and video assets being assembled into a collection
- Allows users to preview and access to assets directly on the server with the Xinet Asset Browser Contextual Menu
- Supports Adobe Creative Suite 6 Windows client applications to enable compatible functionality with Mac clients
Telescope 9.0.3
The Telescope update introduces a number of enhancements designed to bolster its role as the most advanced and trusted Digital Asset Management (DAM) system available for the enterprise, including:
- Allows users to easily assemble collections of assets with tear off catalogs
- Generates more consistent and accurate previews across a broader range of image formats with the VizView component
- Simplified installation of Telescope via a new one-click installer
- Adobe Creative Suite 6 certified
ConnectR
The new releases of Xinet and Telescope include the advent of the new ConnectR interoperability, which streamlines the transfer of assets between North Plains’ products and facilitates repurposing of assets across the enterprise.
Customers who have both Xinet 17.04 and Telescope 9.0.3 will be able to use the ‘Push to DAM’ feature that allows a user in a Xinet 17.04 system to push either a single asset (file and metadata) or multiple assets (files and metadata) to Telescope.
Availability
Xinet 17.04, Telescope 9.0.3 and ConnectR are available now and began shipping December 13, 2012.
