(NASDAQ: ADVS), a leading provider of software and services for the global investment management industry, today announced the appointment of Rob Tarkoff to its Board of Directors to be effective on September 25, 2012. Mr. Tarkoff brings vast experience from the technology industry, specifically in SaaS solutions and digital media, to Advent's board.

Mr. Tarkoff is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Lithium Technologies, a global company providing software that powers Social Customer Experiences for more than 350 iconic brands including AT&T, BT, Best Buy and Skype. Prior to Lithium, Mr. Tarkoff served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Enterprise Solutions business at Adobe Systems. At Adobe, Mr. Tarkoff pioneered Adobe's Customer Experience Management strategy, and was responsible for the core Acrobat, Adobe Connect Web conferencing, Adobe Digital Enterprise Platform, and customer experience management offerings. He oversaw the Web content management and digital asset management solutions gained through Adobe's acquisition of Day Software, and he also led Adobe's worldwide enterprise solution partnerships, including system integration partners and strategic ISVs.

Before Adobe, Mr. Tarkoff held several executive positions at EMC Corporation, Documentum, Inc. and Commerce One. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mr. Tarkoff holds a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School and a bachelor's degree from Amherst College. Additionally, Mr. Tarkoff is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Lawrence Hall of Science, the largest public science center in the U.S., and has previously served on the Board of Directors for Borland Software Corporation and Onyx Software.
