Background
Today, the Internet is rife today with identity theft, theft of funds, and misappropriation of information, including customer data. Conventional security is inadequate in many ways. Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) technology is commonly used in Internet banking, by governmental websites, and for sensitive credit card data. (Security is indicated by small icons of locks in browser windows when active.)
