(www.cineform.com), creators of high-fidelity compression-based workflow solutions for the post production marketplace, announced today that it is escalating development of its award-winning 3D post production workflow technologies and extending key 3D functionality across its entire Neo family of solutions. In its booth #SL10323 at NAB 2010 in Las Vegas next week, CineForm will demonstrate new versions of NeoHD and Neo4K that now include many of the 3D capabilities so popular in its professional Neo3D application.

"We have witnessed an explosion of 3D mania in Hollywood in just the past 6 months alone, and with that explosive growth comes not only a heightened demand for new creative content, but also a steep requirement for effective, efficient and powerful 3D production workflow technology. And here at NAB 2010, we're excited to demonstrate the significant advancements we've made with our Neo family of 3D workflow solutions," said David Taylor, CEO and co-founder of CineForm. "Visitors to the CineForm booth at NAB will not only see the advancements we've made in our own products, they'll hear how we've impacted 3D production innovations across many levels and through many valued partners, such as Cinedeck, NVIDIA, Panasonic and many more. We're proud of the role we've played in this new era of 3D post production and we look forward to what's coming in 2010 and beyond."

What's New in Neo3D Version 5
CineForm Neo3D Version 5 introduces a number of new real-time 3D production features critical to the 3D workflow, including:

  • Floating window masks to manage 3D window violations;
  • Keyframe ability to allow ramping of 2D and 3D Active Metadata, including convergence at cut points between 3D clips on a timeline;
  • 'Ghost busting' to minimize high-contrast crosstalk between Left and Right channels visible on some 3D display technologies;
  • A new graphics engine enabling 3D text and graphics overlays on top of underlying video including independent parallax (3D depth) controls;
  • New support for Adobe CS5 on both Windows and Mac, including automatic 3D render capabilities;
  • On Windows, Neo3D adds support for NVIDIA OpenGL surfaces to drive both passive and active 3D monitors.

Extending Powerful 3D Production Features Across the Neo Family
In an effort to meet growing demand for 3D post production capability, and to encourage more independent 3D filmmaking, CineForm is adding 3D capability to its NeoHD and Neo4K product families on both platforms. Version 5 of both NeoHD and Neo4K will now include several 3D capabilities popular in Neo3D, including real-time adjustment of convergence, adjustment of stereo color, and choice of display formatting for virtually all common stereo modes including anaglyph and passive polarized.

In an age of borderless networks, security for the cloud and security for the corporate network can no longer be separated. Security teams are now presented with the challenge of monitoring and controlling access to these cloud environments, at the same time that developers quickly spin up new cloud instances and executives push forwards new initiatives. The vulnerabilities created by migration to the cloud, such as misconfigurations and compromised credentials, require that security teams t...

Today's workforce is trading their cubicles and corporate desktops in favor of an any-location, any-device work style. And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud. But managing a proliferation of SaaS, web, and mobile apps running on any number of clouds and devices is unwieldy and increases security risks. Steve Wilson, Citrix Vice President of Cloud,...
As the fourth industrial revolution continues to march forward, key questions remain related to the protection of software, cloud, AI, and automation intellectual property. Recent developments in Supreme Court and lower court case law will be reviewed to explain the intricacies of what inventions are eligible for patent protection, how copyright law may be used to protect application programming interfaces (APIs), and the extent to which trademark and trade secret law may have expanded relev...

When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data.However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation. The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e...

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks. We're in the midst of a wave of excitement around AI such as hasn't been seen for a few decades. But those previous periods of inflated expectations led to troughs of disappointment. This time is (mostly) different. Applications of AI such as predictive analytics are already decreasing costs and improving reliability of industrial machinery. Pattern recognition can equal or exceed the ability of human experts in some domains. It's devel...
