For web developers, Dreamweaver 8 will be the tool of choice no matter what their coding platform, from ASP.NET, PHP or Coldfusion to J2EE. Tools to develop applications rapidly work the same regardless of the particular technology, allowing the developer to focus on function rather than syntax. Support for PHP5 and Coldfusion MX 7 and XML are improved with this release, with update server behaviors, improved code hinting, and drag and drop for XML. A new coding toolbar and improved code editing make for quick work when you need to work in Code View.
Visual professionals, such as graphic designers and video editors, will have a tool in Dreamweaver 8 that allows them to bring their projects to the web through a powerful visual interface. Dreamweaver 8 provides numerous tools to pull graphic content into a coherent web format, gives excellent visual rendering in that interface, and provides effective tools to manage that content on the web platform. Simplified workflow, drag and drop for Flash video, and awesome integration between Studio 8 applications should catch the eye of every visual professional.
For those new to Dreamweaver, moving to Dreamweaver 8 from your current tool will be a quantum leap in productivity as well as creativity. Dreamweaver is without peer as a web building application. It is the best platform to enable you to build industry standard, not to mention stylish, web sites using XHTML with CSS styles and layouts from the start. You can bring your level of work up to these standards easily by using the tools integrated in Dreamweaver 8. Add dynamic elements to your web sites on any platform with having to stop and learn another language. Take the worry out of designing for the Internet with cross-browser compatibility checking. Dreamweaver gives you literally all of the tools you need to design, build and deploy a web site or web application.
Dreamweaver MX and MX 2004 users will find the improved tools and new features quite valuable. Look (and be!) smarter and more efficient by using improved CSS design and layout tools, enhanced server technology support, and better web site management tools. Tailor your workspace with four different workspace configurations, or customize your own. The beautiful new layouts and designs allow you to go from installation to full site in no time flat. Manage sites better with background file transfer and improved check-in and synchronization. These powerful tools allow you to better perform tasks across all areas of expertise, from information architect to interface designer to dynamic application developer.
